About Selma and Curry

Growing up in a creative environment, designing and colors have always been a part of Selma. She has always been active in her parent’s family business RICE, and has throughout the years become a bigger part of styling, design and other marketing activities, which definitely sparked her idea of taking a gap year to start Curry.

The production is located in Madagascar. She went for the first time when she was 2 years old and has travelled there many times since. It was there that she first witnessed the handwork and techniques of the incredibly skilled women, who makes these bags by hand – and she fell in love. With the collection comes also a natural focus on sustainability. The bags are all handmade from the natural material raffia that comes from palm leaves. And the production also supports a lot of locals in Madagascar. These bags are a sustainable in multiple ways.
