Growing up in a creative environment, designing and colors have always been a part of me. I have always been active in my parent’s family business RICE, and have throughout the years become a bigger part of styling, design and other marketing activities, which definitely sparked my idea of taking a gap year to start Curry.
The production is located in Madagascar. I went for the first time when I was 2 years old and have travelled there many times since. It was here that I first witnessed the handwork and techniques of the incredibly skilled women, who makes these bags by hand – and I fell in love. With the collection comes also a natural focus on sustainability. The bags are all handmade from the natural material raffia that comes from palm leaves. And the production also supports a lot of locals in Madagascar. These bags are a sustainable in multiple ways.
